This conservation protected barn originally belonged to the Lord of Ribbeck’s estate, as described by Theodor Fontaine, and is constructed from a rare and historically innovative Lime-Rammed Earth mixture. The local soil has a high earth content which was supplemented with lime and then compacted in a formwork. The buildings use as a sheep barn for 150 years had resulted in significant damages to the historic substance.
Restoration of a conservation protected rammed earth/lime barn to use as an atelier house with guest rooms and living areas.
