Publication: Cooperation DBZ 11|2024 “Experimental Construction”
ZRS Architekten Ingenieure cooperated with the editorial team of DBZ (Deutsche BauZeitschrift) in the preparation of the magazine issue focusing on ‘Experimental Construction’ and had the opportunity to advise the editorial team, particularly regarding the selection of projects and themes. A series of exemplary projects that put the experiment into practice have now been published. One of these is the GRW project Museum Pavilion and Touristic Information Trails on TU Campus Berlin – a living lab for sustainable planning and construction by the Natural Building Lab (TU Berlin) together with ZRS, which explores the use of reclaimed wood, among other aspects. In addition, the Weleda Logistics Cradle Campus by Michelgroup, the largest continuous rammed earth building in Germany, for which ZRS Ingenieure was responsible for the structural design and the specialist planning of the earth building as well as the development of the rammed earth mixture from the local building clay.
A podcast in which Uwe Seiler, Andrea Klinge and Eike Roswag-Klinge talk about their own experiences with experiments in construction and how we can move away from the conventional and towards scaling up the experimental has also been released in connection with the issue.
