On site / Assembly of timber structure / Konrad-Zuse-Schule

The construction of the workshop building at the Konrad-Zuse-school is progressing and is about to enter the next phase. The base plate, the only concrete part of the building, has been completed and the assembly of the timber construction is well on its way. The structure of the first floor was assembled in under a week.

The building is planned with a skeleton structure which creates a functional and flexible building with a long lifespan and saves resources. The timber elements are pre-made in the factories of the firm Sieveke and only assembled on site, reducing the construction time and making this type of construction cost-effective, fast and less disruptive of the day-to-day school life.
