Project team of ‘Gut Buchholz’ nominated for the Energy Efficiency Award 2020

We are very pleased to announce that the team behind the project Gut Buchholz has been selected by the dena (the German Energy Agency) as one of three finalists in the category ‘Concepts for Climate Neutral Businesses – Innovative Ideas and New Approaches’ in this year’s Energy Efficiency Award.

Gut Buchholz is a planned housing estate in the north of Berlin with an emphasis on renewable energy and building materials. An internal network will provide the estate with geothermic heating and electricity from solar panels will supply it with CO2-neutral energy. Natural building materials, especially timber, creates sustainable buildings and provide the residents with a healthy room climate.

We applied as a team together with the project developer INCEPT and the engineering office IB Hausladen to this year’s award. The winner will be announced at the dena Energiewende Congress on the 16thof November in Berlin. You can read more about the nomination here and about the congress here.
