We are hiring a Laboratory Employee | ZRS Ingenieure
We are looking for a laboratory employee for our office in Berlin.
Together with ZRS Architekten GvA mbH, our interdisciplinary team consists of about 60 employees. We combine structural design, building physics and architecture with scientific work in research and teaching as well as working on challenging projects in Germany and abroad. Our office specializes in natural building materials, timber and earth construction, as well as adaptive reuse of existing buildings and circular construction methods.
In addition to technical planning, our laboratory, specialized in earth-based materials, conducts material development and testing for building material manufacturers as well as for our own conservation projects.
Your tasks:
- Collaborate within the materials testing laboratory of ZRS Ingenieure
- Perform material testing and quality monitoring of earth building materials (earth blocks, rammed earth, earth plaster and earth masonry mortar) for earth building material manufacturers in accordance with the relevant DIN standards
- Conduct suitability testing of building earth and develop recipes for earth building materials for national and international projects
- Handle sample preparation, analysis, and test reporting
- Provide support for laboratory logistics and operations
- Contribute to conservation projects, building surveys, and on-site assessments if required
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless collaboration
- Maintain clear communication with clients and external project stakeholders
We are looking for:
- Completed university degree in civil engineering, material science, material technology, architecture or restoration
- Independent and precise approach to work, combined with motivation and curiosity
- Interest in hands-on work with building materials and crafts
- Business-fluent German language skills required
- Good knowledge of English preferred
- Confident handling of MS Office
