07 JUNE 2024 | SYMPOSIUM: LOWTECH CONSTRUCTION | TOPIC: SUFFICIENCY | NATURAL BUILDING LAB, TU BERLIN

The Natural Building Lab at TU Berlin is organising the Lowtech Symposium for the third time in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR). This year, the focus is on sufficiency. Against the backdrop of the considerable environmental impact of buildings, robust, simple and, above all, sufficiency-orientated solutions for a sustainable transformation process in the building sector will be discussed. In three thematic blocks wit the categories of Space, Material and Use global effects, local contexts and building-specific approaches are highlighted from different perspectives. The categories used are based on a concept for categorising the principles of simple and low-tech construction, which will be published in a planning manual.
